Welcome to the EmeraldJC blog! We would like to start it off on a positive note by asking residents to come together to help Juan Reyes.

Even though there hasn't been any official communication from the Management Office or the Board, residents found out that Juan was fired on or about May 1. In some ways it's ironic that May Day or May 1st is celebrated as International Workers' Day in many parts of the world.

Juan does not need much of an introduction as anyone who has lived here knows him and his work ethic well. Juan has been an employee at the Emerald since Oct. 1988 and was the building Super for the last few years. Residents use words like family, caring, helpful and honest to describe Juan.

What we are asking is for residents to request the people in charge to provide residents information about this firing and to respectfully reconsider the decision to fire Juan. Please fill out the 2 question survey below.

These are tough times with the world just starting to emerge out of pandemic related restrictions. Lets do the right thing as a community! Be Well.

After 32 years of serving residents, Juan has earned the right for better treatment.

Juan is like my brother. He is honest and caring person for the past 20 years that I have been living in the James monroe / emerald building.
Our staffs should be treated with respect and fairness. He should be brought back to our building and Community immediately until a trail and evidences to prove his misbehavior.

Juan is helpful, professional, and respectful all these years (resident since 2002). He deserves better with all the respect!

During this tough time we are helping strangers and this happening with person we know is not good at all .I believe a person who has given so many years of his life to a job will definitely not cheat and take this type of blame ,this can’t be true .He truly don’t deserve to take such bad memories with him .🙁

One Juan is worth 1,000 ... Palanis. It is UNacceptable that he was fired. Whoever is responsible should resign ... immediately.

I was shocked at Juan's dismissal. I've lived in the building for 28 years and not only is Juan extremely kind but he is always helpful and responsive to whatever issues I might have with my unit. Moreover in the 28 years that I've interacted with him I have not once ever seen him in a bad mood. He is always pleasant and extremely helpful.

Personally, I would like to see him back working in the building where he belongs.

I know Juan since 2004. He is very honest and caring person. I trust him so much, but he totally earned my trust and respect. I find it impossible to believe that Juan would do what they claimed he did. The management has to either give more information and proofs or should apologize and bring him back. The honest man who serve our building for so many years shouldn’t be treated like this.
